Our take on NoWaitHero
Simultaneous actions keep combat focused on anticipating enemy movement, but remove the pause between actions that turn-based card battles provide. The stacked deck adds another constraint: a useful card may be inaccessible until it reaches the top.
What is NoWaitHero?
NoWaitHero is a deck-building card battle game in which the player and enemies act at the same time, rather than taking turns.
Enemy movements are predictable, so combat involves choosing cards with those actions in mind. Cards are stacked, and only the top card can be played; each card also has restrictions on its use. Defeating enemies earns new cards. Players build their cards and experience while facing stronger opponents, with the goal of defeating all the heroes and winning the Hero Royal.
How NoWaitHero plays
- 01Simultaneous combat
- Enemy actions happen alongside the player's, and their movements can be anticipated.
- 02Stacked card use
- Only the uppermost card in the stack is available to play, and cards have usage restrictions.
- 03Enemy card rewards
- Defeating opponents provides new cards for building the deck.
