Our take on Dungeon Cards
The compact card field keeps each move focused, but limits spatial complexity compared with a larger dungeon map. Permadeath also puts the emphasis on managing each run rather than carrying a character through a persistent campaign.
What is Dungeon Cards?
Dungeon Cards combines card movement, puzzle solving, and roguelike dungeon crawling.
The selected hero moves across a field containing nine cards, clashing with adjacent cards to advance. Each move creates a small tactical problem: monster and trap cards reduce health, healing cards restore it, gold cards raise the score, and other cards provide distinct abilities or behaviors. The game uses turn-based play in a fantasy dungeon setting, with ten selectable heroes, procedurally generated dungeons, pixel art graphics, and permadeath. Runs focus on descending through the dungeon, fighting groups of monsters, and collecting loot while managing the consequences of each card interaction.
How Dungeon Cards plays

- The hero moves through a field of nine cards and must collide with neighboring cards to advance.
- 02Tactical Card Effects

- 03Procedural Dungeons
- Dungeon layouts are generated for each run within the turn-based fantasy crawler.
- 04Selectable Heroes

- 05Permadeath Runs
- A defeated character does not continue the current run.
