Our take on News Reacts
The defining constraint is that the accused civilian has no weapons and must rely on their own thinking while escaping pursuit.
What is News Reacts?
News Reacts places an unarmed civilian in a freely explorable city after a terrorism accusation.
Authorities, special forces, residents, and journalists pursue the player, who must uncover the person responsible and stay alive using only reasoning. Instead of fixed missions, incidents arise through poor timing and location. Urban spaces include stores, eateries, workplaces, homes, and numerous inspectable interiors. Doors, cupboards, and lockers can be investigated, while various objects may be used, collected, consumed, or purchased. Residents run enterprises, hold views, pursue pastimes, and make mistakes that create comic situations. Players may substitute their own images for hundreds of displayed notices and advertisements, and operate web browsers on three-dimensional computers found throughout the city. Movie mode hides maps and score information.
