AdventureIs Nevermind worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players of psychological thrillers who want puzzle-solving in surreal settings
- Adventure players interested in stories centered on trauma patients’ inner worlds
- Players with compatible webcams or sensors who want biofeedback to affect game difficulty
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fast-paced action loop may find the focus on exploration, clues, and puzzles slow.
- Players who do not want fear and stress responses to influence challenge may find the biofeedback mode’s difficulty shifts unwelcome.
- Players without a webcam or heart-rate sensor will not have access to the biofeedback-specific features.
- Players expecting full controller-only input may encounter the keyboard requirement for entering the doctor’s name during registration.
Our take on Nevermind
The point of friction is the stress-response system: when biofeedback is active, fear and tension can make scenarios harder. Players who want challenge to stay independent of their emotional responses may prefer the non-biofeedback mode, which retains the mystery-adventure but omits those features.
What is Nevermind?
Nevermind is a psychological thriller set in surreal landscapes inside the minds of trauma patients.
Players explore each patient’s inner world, solve puzzles, find clues, and work out the story behind buried trauma. With biofeedback active, the game responds to signs of fear, tension, and anxiety: stressful moments can make play harder, while staying calm can make it more forgiving. A heart-rate sensor is not required; webcam-based emotional feedback is also available on supported Windows and Mac machines. Without a webcam or heart-rate sensor, the core mystery-adventure remains playable, but biofeedback-specific features are unavailable. The game also supports virtual reality and selected eye-tracking devices, though webcam-based feedback is unavailable in VR.
How Nevermind plays
- 01Responsive biofeedback
- When compatible sensors are active, signs of stress can affect the difficulty of game scenarios.
- 02Webcam emotion tracking
- A standard webcam can provide emotional feedback on supported Windows and Mac machines without a heart-rate sensor.
- 03Eye-tracking interactions
- With a Tobii EyeX controller, eye movements can affect parts of the game and reveal features or level surprises.
- 04Puzzle-led exploration
- Each patient’s inner world contains clues and puzzles tied to uncovering their buried trauma.
