RPGIs Metal Mutation worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…

- Groups of up to 4 who want to play together in a run-based action game
- Cyberpunk RPG players interested in weapon customization and choosing routes
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a slow, exploration-led experience may find the focus on combat and repeated runs too action-oriented.
- Those wanting activities beyond dungeon runs and monster waves may find the structure narrow.
- Players looking for a medieval fantasy setting may prefer a different world.
Our take on Metal Mutation
The run-based structure puts combat, upgrades, and route choices at the center. That focus leaves less room for activities outside repeated attempts at the main story and the Shelter's monster waves.
What is Metal Mutation?
In Metal Mutation, corporations and advanced technology shape a society in the near future.
A cyborg works with an artificial intelligence to combat nanoparticle-generated nanoviruses. Combat allows character improvements, weapon modification, route selection, and combinations of elemental effects. The campaign supports solo play or cooperative groups of up to four. During the intervals between main-story attempts, The Shelter presents monster waves where players can collect resources and study enemy attack behaviors. The setting also examines the separation of cyborg communities from augmented people, along with everyday life beneath the control of major corporations.
