Our take on Amerzone - The Explorer's Legacy
Players who want the journalist’s role to remain secondary may bounce off the investigation-led progression. The stopping point comes when advancement requires examining surroundings, interpreting documents, and solving puzzles rather than simply following the journey.
What is Amerzone - The Explorer's Legacy?
Play as a young journalist sent to Amerzone, a remote Latin American country shaped by dangerous wildlife, unusual plants, and a violent political past.
The mission is to recover the remaining egg of the legendary Great White Birds and complete a deceased explorer’s final request. Progress involves examining surroundings, locating clues, interpreting documents, and solving puzzles. The hydraflot, a vehicle that travels through water and air, supports the journey across the region and its hazards. This remake reworks the adventure game first released in 1999 into a new experience while retaining Benoît Sokal’s combination of realism, poetry, worldly themes, and wonder.
