Our take on Mesmer
The pitch presents social influence as the central resource, but the revolt also depends on stealth and crowd action. The description gives these systems substantial space, so this is not solely a dialogue-led political story.
What is Mesmer?
Mesmer is a social survival game set in a city ruled by a king and watched by secret police.
Players take the role of Teri De Belle, who is pressured into leading a revolution. They build influence with five factions—the Nobility, Merchants, Artisans, Workers, and Underworld—through social interaction, helpfulness, blackmail, or threats. After curfew, Teri must avoid police sightlines, hide in shadows, or grapple onto rooftops. Public speaking can rally crowds to tear down blockades and advance toward the royal castle. The game combines faction politics, stealth, traversal, and crowd-led action, with multiple endings based on player choices.
How Mesmer plays
