Our take on Mega City Force
Rather than centering exploration or puzzle-solving, this action roguelike builds its structure around repeated combat runs, agent-specific abilities, and generated levels. Boss victories also feed music into the headquarters collection, tying soundtrack discovery to combat progression.
What is Mega City Force?
Mega City Force is a retro-styled action roguelike about agents fighting criminals and bosses in a city controlled by a corrupt megacorporation.
Choose an agent and battle through procedurally generated levels using guns, punches, and character abilities. Levels contain boxes with weapons, while money dropped by enemies can be spent at a store on equipment and contracts. Agents have distinct tactical approaches: the Cyborg has three weapon slots and a magnetic pulse, the Rookie uses a dodge and stun grenade, and the Scout can camouflage herself and use a laser sight. Defeating bosses unlocks synth-wave tracks collected on cassette tapes for playback at headquarters. Completing the game unlocks another difficulty and additional loadouts with retro outfits.
