Our take on Marimoth
Wall-bouncing shots make aiming the central challenge, but this sacrifices the direct forward firing found in many shoot ’em ups. The short structure also trades a lengthy campaign for five compact regions and their guardians.
What is Marimoth?
Marimoth is a short shoot ’em up where the player controls a moth whose shots bounce off walls.
Since shots cannot travel straight forward, aiming reflected attacks is central to defeating enemies and surviving their learned attack patterns. The journey to rescue the kidnapped Royal Moth passes through five regions, each with its own guardian. Coins provide access to three power-up levels. Players can also pursue high scores on Steam Leaderboards. Movement uses WASD or the arrow keys, while the spacebar fires and can be held for autofire. Escape or P pauses the game, Enter resumes it, F4 switches fullscreen mode, and Shift + R returns to the menu. The game also includes a possible secret ending.
