Play it if you…
Good fit- Card-game fans who enjoy bluffing and reading opponents
- Solo players seeking matches against computer-controlled rivals
- Small groups wanting private or online games for up to 4 players
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking long-form progression or a large strategic campaign may find the short card-game structure limited.
- Those who prefer broad tactical control may find the two-card hand and small deck restrictive.
- Players looking for a game outside bluffing and deduction may not suit its central play style.
Our take on Love Letter
The two-card hand keeps turns focused, but it also limits the range of options available at any moment. Strategic play comes from interpreting rivals and timing character abilities rather than managing a large hand or building a wider plan.
What is Love Letter?
Love Letter is a card game adaptation built around bluffing, deduction, and competing suitors.
Each player holds two cards, drawing and playing one at a time to use the abilities of court characters such as guards, priests, princes, and the king. Some characters can eliminate rivals, reveal information, or protect a letter. When the deck runs out, the character still held represents the letter's holder, and the highest-ranking remaining character wins. The game supports 1 to 4 players, with single-player matches against the computer, private multiplayer, and online play. Its 16-card deck contains eight character types, and the game offers eight listed languages.
