Our take on Moonsigil Atlas
The store emphasis is on unlimited card play and combinations that can break the game. That framing gives less attention to the other half of the structure: shifting boards, hostile zones, and win conditions that demand adaptation during encounters.
What is Moonsigil Atlas?
Moonsigil Atlas is a roguelite deckbuilder that replaces energy and action-point limits with spatial card placement.
Each card becomes a shaped sigil on a grid, and its location, neighboring cards, overlaps, runes, keywords, and enduring effects govern activated combinations. Cards may be altered by changing their form, adding runes, or assigning new keywords. Upgrades can be spread throughout the deck or focused on a small selection. A run offers more than 250 cards, different opening decks, unlockable content, prohibited cards, three characters, and a procedurally arranged map. Battles pit players against numerous astral beings and three Titans capable of changing the board. Dangerous areas, variable layouts, and distinct victory requirements make encounters dependent on adapting card placement and deck construction.
How Moonsigil Atlas plays
- 01Grid-Based Card Play
- Each sigil has a distinct shape, and cards can be played when their forms fit the available board space.
- 02Modular Card Upgrades
- Cards can be reshaped, inscribed with runes, and modified with extra keywords during deck development.
- 03Spatial Synergies
- Adjacency, overlap, rune placement, and persistent effects determine how card combinations activate.
- 04Three Playable Characters
- Each character has a different playstyle that changes how a run is approached.
- 05Changing Encounters
- Hostile zones, shifting grids, and special win conditions vary the tactical demands of battles.
