Our take on Long Dream
Instead of treating memory as a reliable guide through a conventional adventure, the story makes its uncertainty central. Zhao Sheng cannot consistently separate recollection from reality, while one image remains fixed: a peach tree connected to a promise from decades earlier.
What is Long Dream?
Long Dream follows Zhao Sheng, a retired postman living with dementia who believes his late partner, Qi Mei, is waiting beneath a peach tree.
His family searches for the tree so he can reach the place connected to their promise. Along the way, memories return from his years delivering mail, family life after retirement, the births of his children, and his time in the army. As his condition worsens, Zhao Sheng loses track of the boundary between memory and reality, day and night, and familiar people. His memory of Qi Mei remains constant. The game presents this story through simple pixel art, humorous dialogue, and a series of twists. A complete playthrough takes about 3-4 hours.
