Our take on Torii
Players seeking conventional action may bounce off when progression shifts into capturing hums in Astral mode and interpreting perception doors. The game places its obstacles in stealth, environmental puzzles, memory collection, and an abstract narrative rather than direct combat.
What is Torii?
Follow Ipa and her companion Moswig through an introspective adventure involving stealth, puzzles, and surreal environments.
The journey centers on finding Ipa’s little sister, Lulu, while confronting guilt and uncovering memories. Players can shift between realities to reach new locations and progress through obstacles. In Astral mode, small creatures called hums can be captured for their energy, which is used to obtain memories and solve puzzles. Hums behave differently according to the color on their heads, including hiding, running, and blending into groups. The game also includes conversations with stranded travelers, collectible cards tied to memories and personal stories, and doors of perception presented as distinct visual spaces. Wings can be found to increase running speed and open additional areas.
