Our take on Locked Up
The roughly 120-minute completion time and repeated corridor exploration define the experience more than the thriller label may suggest. Its central appeal is interpreting environmental changes and sparse clues, while players expecting sustained action or a fast plot may find the measured pacing restrictive.
What is Locked Up?
Locked Up is a first-person psychological thriller set in a house where disturbing events occurred.
Players explore a closed environment that changes after interactions, repeatedly traverse corridors, and examine objects for clues about the past and the protagonist’s identity. The story unfolds nonlinearly, with few notes and a measured environmental narrative that leaves interpretation to the player. Tension gradually increases toward an effect of insanity. The main game takes about 120 minutes to complete. A separate demo level serves as a prequel about a family living before the main story. Level selection allows replay of completed levels, and the game includes hints, a focus-look control, keyboard-arrow movement, and English, Russian, and German language support.
