Our take on FM
Rather than centering combat or resource management, this horror game replaces those conventions with an unstable home, radio-led storytelling, and environmental puzzles that connect physical objects to a murder-suicide report.
What is FM?
FM is a short, first-person psychological horror game set in an unstable environment.
The story begins after an unknown protagonist wakes in a bathroom with distorted vision and no clear memory of what happened. Exploration leads into a familiar-looking home where a radio reports on a recent murder-suicide before the surrounding lights go out. Players investigate rooms, interact with objects, and connect environmental clues to the broadcast in order to uncover more of the story and continue. A radio announcer provides the main narrative voice, though the game raises questions about whether he can be trusted. The experience includes flashing lights and images that may be unsuitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy or similar conditions.
How FM plays
- 01Environmental Story Puzzles
- Objects and locations provide clues that must be connected with details from the radio broadcast.
- 02Radio Narrator
- A broadcast announcer guides the investigation while the story leaves his reliability uncertain.
- 03Shifting Horror Setting
- The surroundings change as the protagonist explores a seemingly familiar home.
