Our take on Kings
The defining constraint is keeping factions satisfied: neglect can trigger a revolt that removes the king from the throne. The ruler's tenure, rather than a stated campaign endpoint, is the central measure of a run.
What is Kings?
Kings puts the player in the role of a ruler whose decisions affect the people and factions in the kingdom.
The player can govern directly or favor the church, with the latter leaving people hungry. Each faction must be kept satisfied: neglect can trigger a revolt and remove the king from power. Charisma, intelligence, and luck may affect how events turn out. The central challenge is to remain on the throne for as long as possible. The game includes a card-based decision format, a high-score system, achievements, statistics, and randomly generated character names. Different choices lead to different results.
