Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a solo game will reach a wall before starting, because the game requires at least 4 participants.
- Groups wanting a short, fixed scenario may find the many Events, choices, endings, and shifting political outcomes demanding.
- Players looking for direct action rather than votes, persuasion, taxes, and rebellion may not find the required gameplay focus.
Our take on King Of The Castle
The bounce point arrives before the first reign: a group of fewer than four cannot begin. Twitch play changes the scale further, with viewers joining through chat and an extension rather than taking part through a standard small-group setup.
What is King Of The Castle?
King of the Castle is a multiplayer medieval party game for at least 4 players, with one player ruling as Monarch while others serve as Nobles.
The Council votes on decisions, manipulates events, and may plot against the throne. Games span five Regions, each with its own events and 18 possible schemes, while taxes, laws, persuasion, bribery, and rising Defiance shape the kingdom. Rebellions can end a reign, and the game records deeds and misdeeds to build a continuing history. It includes more than 950 possible Events, 80 Endings, and over 17,000 choices. Dynasty Games carry selected events and choices into later sessions. Video-call, couch co-op, and Twitch play are supported.

King Of The Castle compared to similar games
King of the Castle centers on one Monarch, a Council of Nobles, political decisions, and rebellion across a medieval kingdom. Feign offers 4–8-player drawing rounds built around a hidden Impostor, while The Jackbox Party Pack 7 contains five separate party games, including drawing and answer-based formats. King of the Castle therefore uses a continuing ruler-and-council structure rather than short drawing or mixed-game sessions.
