Our take on King of the Hat
Instead of treating the character as the main source of offense and defense, the game places each player’s life inside a throwable hat. Attacking, blocking, baiting, and even surviving depend on managing that separate object, while jumping on an opponent’s hat ends the encounter.
What is King of the Hat?
King of the Hat is a 2D party platformer for 2–4 players in which hats serve as weapons, shields, and the source of each character’s life.
Players throw hats to attack or lure opponents, while a thrown hat catches fire and cannot be harmed during that state. Jumping on another player’s hat defeats them, making hat placement central to each encounter. Matches can use altered rules, power-ups, and stage hazards. The game supports competitive two-player play and allows a friend to join through Friendpass at no additional charge. Its basic controls are intended for quick pickup, while the same hat mechanics support more involved matches between two players.
How King of the Hat plays

- Players can modify match conditions, add power-ups, and use hazards built into the stages.
- 04Friendpass access
