Our take on Kin and Conquest
The store presentation gives equal weight to combat, mining, bosses, loot, and several progression systems, but the core interaction remains simple: moving near enemies to trigger attacks while avoiding their range. The breadth of listed systems may suggest more combat variety than that central loop provides.
What is Kin and Conquest?
Kin and Conquest is an incremental action adventure about guiding a fox into a mountain controlled by the Evil Geomancer.
Players attack enemies, evade their strikes, mine rocks, defeat bosses, and collect loot while moving with a mouse, keyboard, or gamepad. Proximity-based combat requires moving into range to attack and away from hazards, obstacles, and enemy blows. Progression comes from upgrading equipment, selecting from six weapons that unlock during play, investing in a skill tree, and choosing a permanent Blessing when leveling up. Movement can be controlled by clicking or set to follow the cursor automatically.
How Kin and Conquest plays
- 01Proximity combat
- Attacks occur when the fox approaches an enemy, with movement used to manage range and avoid incoming threats.
- 02Six weapons
- Weapons become available gradually as the game progresses.
- 03Skill progression
- A skill tree provides choices that affect the fox's development.
- 04Permanent blessings
- Level-ups offer a lasting bonus selected by the player.
- 05Flexible movement
- The fox can be directed by mouse clicks, keyboard, gamepad, or cursor-following movement.
