Our take on Kabaret
Rather than centering its adventure on combat or exploration challenges, Kabaret places tea ceremonies and conversations with folklore creatures alongside traditional minigames and stage management. Its story progresses through Jebat’s encounters in the Kabaret, with 6 distinct endings.
What is Kabaret?
Kabaret is a dark fantasy visual novel set in a realm inhabited by creatures from Southeast Asian folklore.
Jebat, a boy cursed into becoming a monster, arrives in Alam Bunian and seeks a way to break the curse. At the Kabaret, he serves tea to visiting creatures, hears their stories, and offers advice through ceremonies. Players can interact with more than 20 mythical beings, play the traditional games Guli and Congkak, and manage a stage performance. The story has 6 endings, each following a different route. Hand-drawn stylized art and a traditional musical soundtrack accompany the story, which explores Jebat’s encounters with supernatural and human monsters.
