Our take on Journey of Greed
The bounce point arrives when an adventure reaches its continue-or-escape decision. Players who dislike risking an existing haul for possible gains, or who do not enjoy cooperation that can turn into betrayal, may stop there rather than engage with the central tension.
What is Journey of Greed?
Journey of Greed combines a social board-game format with strategy card play.
Each online adventure places a pirate or adventurer alongside three other participants while the group explores lost islands during the Age of Discovery. Players decide whether to continue deeper for greater rewards or leave with their current haul. They can cooperate, betray rivals, prepare for approaching dangers, or risk further progress. Card-based tactics include stealing, setting traps, assassinating opponents and escaping at the right moment. The objective is to survive the adventure and finish with more coins than the other players. The game also includes named approaches such as sharing less, taking a small hit, hit-and-run play and self-reliance.
