Our take on ISLAND
The branching structure gives the mystery room to develop across several paths, but it sacrifices the immediacy of action-focused games. Progress depends on reading and revisiting narrative routes rather than controlling frequent physical challenges.
What is ISLAND?
Awakening without memories on the shore of isolated Urashima, Sanzenkai Setsuna investigates the island’s history and his own connection to it.
The story follows his relationships with Rinne, Karen, and Sara, whose families are tied to the island’s fate. Players uncover clues about an endemic disease, abandoned marine research facilities, past incidents involving the Three Families, and local legends. ISLAND uses a visual-novel structure with branching routes and multiple endings. A flowchart lets players move through the narrative and follow its mysteries. Setsuna claims to have traveled through time and seeks to alter the island’s future while protecting the people and things he values.
