Our take on AIKAGI
Readers who expect visual novels to offer route selection will hit the wall at the format itself: AIKAGI has no branching paths. Players seeking interaction beyond following the central story may also bounce when they encounter its kinetic-novel structure.
What is AIKAGI?
AIKAGI is a kinetic visual novel centered on Sunohara Nozomu, a student whose parents ask him to live independently.
He has not learned to cook and struggles to find a suitable place to stay. His childhood friend, Takanashi Shiori, invites him to live with her, and their parents arrange a one-month trial intended to teach him the basics of living alone. The story follows their new domestic life during the final winter of their student years. As a kinetic novel, AIKAGI presents a linear narrative without branching routes, focusing on the shared-living premise and the relationship between its two central characters.
How AIKAGI plays
- 01Linear narrative
- The story follows one route rather than branching into different outcomes.
- 02One-month arrangement
- Nozomu and Shiori live together for a month as he learns to manage independent living.
- 03Domestic coming-of-age
- The premise focuses on Nozomu learning household independence while sharing a home with his childhood friend.
