Our take on Inkshade
The unusual miniature-board-game setting receives much of the presentation, but the core activity is a run-based tactics game: refining pieces, recruiting fallen enemies, solving puzzles, and repeating attempts against the game master.
What is Inkshade?
Inkshade is a turn-based tactics game set within a wooden board game of locked rooms and cursed skies.
Players command a captain’s crew while pursuing the abyss, a journey involving conquest of a continent, acquisition of an airship, and a voyage through the skies. Crew members are distinct pieces that can be refined, upgraded, and deployed in battles. Puzzles and exploration reveal new piece classes, while fallen enemies can be recruited during a run. Each attempt differs from the last, and victory over the game master requires repeated runs, strategic decisions, tactical play, and persistence.
How Inkshade plays

- 03Run-Based Progression
- Each attempt changes from the previous one, and defeated enemies can be added to the collection during a run.
