Set in the fourth millennium, Imperium Galactica places the player in charge of a crumbling human empire facing unrest, rival powers, and an approaching invader.

Relations with other powers can involve alliances, technology trade, treaties, or war. Military conflict takes place in real time on both the ground and in space.
