Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a slow-paced experience; combat and movement are described as fast-paced.
- Players looking for a linear route through the game; its exploration and boss order are non-linear.
- Players seeking multiplayer gameplay; the described game centers on Nin's solo adventure.
Our take on Imp of the Sun
Its non-linear structure gives players freedom to choose routes and boss order, but sacrifices a fixed sequence of encounters. That choice may suit players who like setting their own path, while offering less of a guided progression through the story.
What is Imp of the Sun?
Set in a Peruvian-inspired world, this two-dimensional action platformer follows Nin, a being born from the Sun’s final spark.
The journey crosses varied regions as Nin battles the Four Keepers, restores the Sun’s strength, and learns abilities that expand movement and combo-based fighting. Quipus and concealed objects uncover story details while referencing Andean cultural relics. The four Keepers may be confronted in any sequence, and each uses different battle systems and has an individual history. Alongside these encounters, the game features five bosses, repeat runs with potential shortcuts, and Eclipse Mode. In that mode, darkness covers each region until Nin has explored it.
