Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking relaxed sailing will hit a wall when foil height, sail trim and capsizing must be managed during races.
- Those looking for varied racing disciplines may find the focus on foiling boats and in-shore regattas narrow.
- Players who do not want competitive multiplayer racing may have limited interest in its race structure.
Our take on Hydrofoil Generation
The bounce point arrives when keeping the boat airborne becomes the main task. Excessive foil height can end a run with a splash or capsize, while wind, currents, sea conditions and sail trim demand continued attention during races.
What is Hydrofoil Generation?
Hydrofoil Generation is a first-person sailing and foiling simulator focused on multiplayer in-shore regattas.
Players control the course, sail trim and foils while managing boats that can reach speeds above 50 knots. Keeping the hull airborne increases speed, but excessive height can lead to a splash or capsizing. Races include changing wind, sea conditions and currents, with up to 10 opponents. The game includes official Global Racing League SailGP content, including F50 catamarans and liveries. Other vessels include the Jx50 foiling catamaran and Jx40 foiling monohull. Locations include Chicago, Den Haag, Hong Kong and Bermuda, with recreated coastlines.
