Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking deep or mechanically complex systems may find the gameplay intentionally simple.
- Those wanting constant combat may find the occasional gunplay too limited.
- Players looking for a broad open-world adventure may find the focus on one night and a subway security role narrow.
Our take on Homeless
Rather than centering on combat or elaborate progression, the game turns routine security work into its main structure. Camera monitoring, patrols, and crime-scene checks replace the usual action-heavy approach, while the mystery gradually shifts the guard’s ordinary duties into psychological horror.
What is Homeless?
Homeless is a psychological horror game set in 1990s New York City.
Players take the role of Albert, a night-shift security guard at a Brooklyn subway station. After spotting a strange man in a restricted railway area through the security cameras, Albert investigates the figure and the crimes connected to him. Gameplay centers on checking CCTV, patrolling the station, exploring the surrounding area, and examining crime scenes. Small puzzles and occasional gunplay accompany the investigation. The story focuses on a stressful night and Albert’s sense of responsibility rather than complex mechanics. The game uses Unreal Engine 5 and includes a hidden level that becomes available after the final credits.
