Our take on The Lightkeeper
Its defining structure combines routine lighthouse maintenance with a psychological-horror investigation, making beacon operation and oil management part of Arthur’s isolated descent.
What is The Lightkeeper?
In 1925, Arthur, a World War I veteran, takes an isolated lighthouse post on a distant island to leave his wartime memories behind.
His routine involves tending the beacon at scheduled times and keeping enough oil available. As he investigates the island, he uncovers unsettling truths about the keepers whose lives ended there. Solitude and worsening mental health make it harder for Arthur to distinguish what is real from what he imagines. The narrative uses cinematic scenes, environmental exploration, and sound-driven atmosphere to build its setting. Several endings are available, with three important decisions near the finale directing Arthur’s fate along different paths.
