Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who need fixed layouts or predictable routes may hit a wall when corridors rearrange during movement.
- Those seeking direct combat may find the escape-focused structure limiting, since the described threats are avoided rather than fought.
- Players who prefer bright, open environments may bounce off the dark facility and reliance on a lighter and flashlight.
Our take on Hektor
Players who rely on memorizing routes will hit the main bounce point when the facility changes paths behind or ahead of them. The pursuit system adds another wall: stopping to interpret clues or search for items can expose the character to threats that track their presence.
What is Hektor?
Hektor is a first-person psychological horror game set in a secret research facility beneath northern Greenland.
The player explores corridors that change in response to movement, altering routes and making navigation unstable. Cryptic clues provide information for finding a way through the facility, while a pursuing monster and other threats create pressure during exploration. A lighter and flashlight guide the player through the dark environment. The character, formerly a subject at the facility, must manage psychosis caused by prolonged torture and confinement. Pills can be scavenged to prevent further deterioration, and additional items support progress toward escape. The setting is a military black site with secrets connected to its past.
