Our take on Hard Time
Its defining structure is a real-time prison simulation where survival depends on balancing mental and physical health while relationships with other characters develop and change.
What is Hard Time?
Create a convict and try to survive prison life in a 2D simulation.
The facility contains 12 distinct areas, interactive furniture and props, and up to 100 other inmates. Beyond the prison, civilians and wardens operate under dozens of laws. Each day runs in real time, requiring attention to both mental and physical health. Characters can form friendships, romances, rivalries, and gangs, while new people arrive over time. The desktop edition lets players save changes made to all characters. Controller support also creates multiplayer opportunities, allowing another person to control someone else in the scene and either help or hinder the main player.
