Our take on Human Host
Total physical destruction defines the experience: terrain, structures, trees, and rocks can be dismantled, while constructed vehicles can serve as mobile fortresses.
What is Human Host?
Human Host is an undead scavenging and construction game set in an endless world generated by algorithms.
Its landscapes contain 10 biome types, including forests, ruins, deserts, canyons, rainforests, and snowfields. Players can destroy terrain, structures, trees, and rocks while searching for supplies, excavating below ground, building fortresses packed with traps, and creating movable bases from varied materials. Lua scripting enables precise vehicle handling, while ready-made options support construction without coding. Weapons, traps, bosses, rapidly moving nighttime hordes, and physics-driven impacts shape combat. Armor covers specific body regions to stop damage. Cooperative play is planned for a later release.
How Human Host plays
- 01Destructible environments
- Terrain, buildings, trees, and rocks can be destroyed throughout the world.

- 03Procedural biomes
- The world contains 10 randomly generated regions, including forests, deserts, ruins, rainforests, canyons, and snowfields.
- 04Physical armor coverage
- Armor blocks incoming damage through the body surfaces it physically covers.
- 05Night zombie hordes
- Fast-moving groups of zombies create an additional threat during the night.
Human Host compared to similar games
Human Host and Mr. Prepper both involve survival crafting and shelter construction, but Human Host adds an open procedural world, vehicle-based bases, destructible terrain, firearms, and zombie combat, while Mr. Prepper focuses on an underground shelter and preparation for nuclear war. Force of Nature is a sandbox combining action, adventure, RPG, strategy, and management, with exploration across more than 10 zones, resource gathering, mining, and weapon creation; Human Host instead centers on destructible environments, mobile construction, traps, and zombie hordes.
