Our take on Descending The Woods
Rather than treating farming as a separate relaxing activity, the game places it beside survival horror: the farm supplies resources and shelter, while the woods bring escalating paranormal danger. Its daytime routine and nighttime threats replace the usual single-purpose structure of either a cozy simulator or a horror game.
What is Descending The Woods?
Manage a farm by day and investigate haunted woods while avoiding ghosts and demons after dark.
Farming provides resources, while animal rescue, taming, breeding, crafting, trading, and building expand the homestead. The woods contain three layers with distinct biomes, crypts, changing points of interest, cursed objects, and paranormal territories. Players can use surveillance imagery, player-location tracking, communication, floodlights, weapons, and detection devices while exploring. A wristwatch marks timed events, and declining mental health can cause hallucinations and alter encounters with paranormal beings. Solo play and co-op for up to 4 players are supported. Procedural elements change locations, seeds, and resource areas each time a new farm begins.
