Our take on Genesis Rising
Rather than treating ships as fixed units, the game makes genetic modification part of real-time command. Fleet composition can change during play, and ship forms respond to inserted genes, replacing static unit upgrades with biological customization.
What is Genesis Rising?
Genesis Rising follows Captain Iconah as humanity launches a campaign to conquer the Universal Heart, the last independent galaxy.
The non-linear single-player campaign contains over 30 branching missions. Players gather resources, upgrade technology, and command organic starships whose DNA can be altered during play. More than 20 ship types can be customized with over 50 weapons and abilities, producing different fleet configurations and changing ship models as genes are inserted. Alien races can become allies that provide support and technology, or their resources can be taken. Players can invade enemy vessels to steal technology and expand their gene bank. Two players can control one fleet together in co-op, while multiplayer supports up to 12 players across multiple maps.
