Our take on Galactic Dominion
The game trades a fixed, consistent campaign structure for broad customization: galaxy layouts, opponents, pacing, and rules can vary substantially between sessions. That flexibility supports replayable setups but makes the experience less uniform from one game to the next.
What is Galactic Dominion?
Galactic Dominion is a 4X space strategy game focused on exploration, research, colony management, fleet construction, defense, and conquest.
A campaign presents a sequence of chapters with distinct objectives and newly generated galaxies. Free Play allows settings for galaxy size, star count, opponents, empire races, enemy aggression, difficulty, research length, star lanes, and an optional Total War crisis. Games can use real-time or turn-based rules, with speed controls for adjusting the pace. Players can queue colony industries and ships, customize weapon hardpoints through the ship designer, and control combat around choke points and star systems. AI governors can manage parts of the galaxy, while a tutorial introduces the controls.
