Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want colony management alongside space and planetary battles
- Players who prefer variable maps with customizable galaxy size and density
- Multiplayer groups seeking faction-based galactic strategy for up to 15 players
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly scripted campaign may find the procedurally generated structure less directed
- Those who prefer strictly turn-based strategy may not enjoy pausable real-time decisions and battles
- Players looking for squad-scale combat rather than empire and colony management
- Players who do not want to manage diplomacy, research, resources and multiple worlds
Our take on Galactic Ruler
Rather than limiting strategy to a single map layer, the game links empire management, planetary development and space conflict. Its pausable real-time structure also replaces the strictly turn-based pacing found in some strategy games.
What is Galactic Ruler?
Galactic Ruler is a real-time strategy game covering planetary management and space operations.
Players choose one of 15 factions and lead it across a procedurally generated galaxy containing systems, planets, hostile enemies and resources. Survey ships search for new worlds, while colonists can be sent to planets whose atmosphere matches the faction's race. Planet development provides resources, and research advances military, social and economic capabilities. Diplomacy includes treaties, alliances and trade with other factions. Battles take place in space and on planetary surfaces using pausable real-time controls. Galaxy size and density are customizable, supporting games with dozens of systems and hundreds of planets. Players can make all decisions or use AI assistance. Multiplayer supports up to 15 players.
