Our take on Frosthaven
The game’s layered systems come with a trade-off: progress depends on managing resources and coordinating class abilities, so it asks for planning between and during battles rather than offering a lighter, more immediate RPG structure.
What is Frosthaven?
Frosthaven is a digital adaptation of a dark fantasy tactical RPG and supports solo play or online co-op for 2–4 players.
Battles use turn-based combat and ability cards, requiring players to plan attacks and combos while keeping party members alive. The campaign follows six starting character classes, with additional classes unlocked as it progresses. Players also manage an outpost by building and upgrading structures that open further features and mechanics. Quests take place across varied biomes, seasons, and environments. A tutorial introduces the basic mechanics, while difficulty settings provide options for newcomers. The game combines party decisions, resource management, combat, and outpost development within a campaign.
