Rather than keeping the action inside a single enclosed facility, the campaign moves from an underground research base to the wider Great Sitkin Island. Its horror structure also combines puzzle-solving and escape with armed encounters against both soldiers and dinosaurs.
What is Fossilfuel?
Fossilfuel is a survival horror shooter set in Sierra, an underground research facility on Alaska’s Great Sitkin Island.
Genetic experiments have produced mutant dinosaurs, and a special forces invasion adds human enemies to the threat. Players search for clues, solve puzzles, and fight through the facility before reaching the island’s open landscape. Several large maps allow different approaches, and player decisions affect the ending. Combat includes conventional guns and science-fiction weapons. Soldiers can flank, call for backup, and react to sounds, while dinosaurs track the player with their senses. The main campaign takes around 6 to 10 hours, depending on skill.
