Our take on Edge of Sanity
The bounce point arrives when madness and camp management begin affecting every expedition. Players who expect direct combat to solve encounters may hit a wall when scarce supplies, enemy weaknesses, and lethal outcomes make improvisation or restraint necessary.
What is Edge of Sanity?
Edge of Sanity is a 2D psychological survival horror game set in an Alaskan wilderness inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos.
The story follows a resupply team whose camp is abandoned after an encounter with terrifying creatures. Survivors explore caves, mines, and laboratories to gather resources, find other people, and investigate the PRISM organization. At camp, survivors can be assigned to scouting missions, while stations produce food, water, and other supplies. Madness permanently affects characters through traumas that alter actions, reality, dialogue options, and crafting possibilities. Encounters involve studying enemy weaknesses, impairing senses, using the environment, crafting, and deciding when to fight. Choices around cults, monsters, and other people shape a journey through a hostile Cold War-era wilderness.
