Our take on Echelon
The defining structure is a branching aircraft campaign: mission outcomes shape the route through a large set of planetary battles, while control over both the craft and strategic objectives increases over time.
What is Echelon?
Set in 2351, Echelon casts the player as a Galactic Federation pilot defending planetary colonies from Velian forces.
Missions combine aircraft combat with strategic objectives, and failure determines whether a mission is passed. The game includes 14 aircraft types and 16 weapons, with more than 20 weapons described as available during each pass-fail mission. Aircraft use simulated physics and show damage effects in real time. More than 200 military vehicles and structures can be destroyed. Wingmen provide support during mission objectives, while control over the aircraft and strategic goals increases over time. The campaign structure branches, offering different routes through more than 30 campaigns.
