Our take on Scholar of the Arcane Arts
The emphasis on spell interaction trades immediate combat clarity for experimentation. Progress depends on collecting magic, testing combinations, and working out which effects counter, disable, or attack different enemies.
What is Scholar of the Arcane Arts?
Scholar of the Arcane Arts is an action RPG built around roguelike runs and spells whose effects influence one another.
Gather scrolls, study magic from five disciplines, then merge or improve spells to determine which ones can strike, hinder, or neutralize particular monsters. Exploration includes riddles, hidden underground areas, creature dens, and three worlds generated anew during play. Each realm contains hostile creatures, dungeon areas, and Demigods, with some opponents moving faster or hitting harder than the protagonist. The central objective is to repel entities that have entered the world through five mystical planes. Its dark-fantasy presentation uses illustrated pixel graphics and magical visual effects. More than 10,000 different spell pairings are available to uncover.
