Our take on Duke of Defense
Rather than keeping players behind a defensive setup, the game places the hero inside the battle. Sword attacks, evasive movement, tower construction, and enemy collection happen together, replacing the genre’s usual detached command perspective with direct participation.
What is Duke of Defense?
Duke of Defense combines tower defense with direct character control.
Players slash goblins with a sword, roll through enemy waves, collect coins from defeated foes, and construct towers during the action. Nine towers provide different defensive options, while character upgrades and a skill tree add abilities throughout the story. The game can be played alone or cooperatively with one friend, with unlocked skills applying in co-op mode as well. Online co-op uses Parsec. Gameplay speed can be adjusted, screen shake and blur can be disabled, and controls can be remapped. The setting includes humorous villagers, self-important wizards, and a soundtrack spanning chiptunes and comedic ambient music.
