Our take on Dorfs: Hammers for Hire
Rather than centering platforming on defeating enemies directly, the game makes workshop crafting and delivering equipment the main task. Its conflicts arise from deadlines, environmental hazards, and co-op mishaps.
What is Dorfs: Hammers for Hire?
Dorfs: Hammers for Hire is a co-op platformer about dwarven smiths crafting weapons and armor for an army during a campaign.
Players race to fill soldiers’ orders as battles progress, while hazards such as fires, falling icicles, and sticky mud disrupt the workshop. The campaign covers 5 regions and 30 hand-crafted levels, with each area bringing its own layout and obstacles. Arcade Classic adds 10 levels that can be played in any order, with an optional extra hazard. Versus mode puts two teams of two against each other in 5 arenas. Up to four people can play locally, online, or in a mix of both. Every mode also supports solo play, with work tables operating without teammates.
