Our take on Distrust: Polar Survival
Rather than treating sleep as a safe recovery step, the game makes rest a source of danger. Staying awake is also risky, creating a survival structure built around managing opposing threats instead of simply restoring health between encounters.
What is Distrust: Polar Survival?
DISTRUST is an isometric survival adventure set around an abandoned Arctic research station during a polar night.
After a helicopter crash, explorers must endure hunger, cold, exhaustion, hallucinations, and unexplained entities while seeking shelter and a way out. Sleeping can draw a force that drains life, but remaining awake for too long also threatens survival. Players explore a randomly generated station, investigate its mysteries, collect supplies, and craft tools. The game includes single-player and cooperative play, with 15 selectable survivors whose different abilities support varied approaches. Story events, quests, plot twists, and multiple endings reveal possible explanations for the force inhabiting the station.
