Our take on Lumina
The store presentation gives equal attention to exploration, danger, treasures, and hidden secrets, but the core structure is a first-person puzzle game built around routing laser beams through 18 handcrafted levels.
What is Lumina?
Play as a 1920 archaeologist trapped inside the lost pyramid of Ka-Nefer.
Escape involves opening gates with colored light by combining, dividing, and redirecting laser beams through mirrors and prisms. The pyramid contains 18 handcrafted levels with increasing difficulty, plus hidden areas and additional secret levels to discover. Ancient dangers become more threatening deeper inside the sealed tombs. The story, inspired by H. P. Lovecraft’s works, offers two endings based on the archaeologist’s behavior. Exploration also includes searching for hidden treasures while trying not to awaken the dark forces buried within the pyramid.
How Lumina plays
- 01Laser Beam Puzzles
- Mirrors and prisms can combine, divide, and redirect light to open gates marked by color.

- Exploration can reveal concealed areas and extra levels beyond the main stages.
- 04Two Story Endings
- The conclusion changes according to the archaeologist’s behavior.
- 05Escalating Dangers
- Hazards increase as the player moves farther into the sealed tombs.
