Our take on Nightlight Secrets
The branching narrative supports different outcomes, but that structure makes the experience dependent on repeated choices and story routes rather than a broad set of gameplay systems.
What is Nightlight Secrets?
Nightlight Secrets is a 3D anime-style visual novel in which players take the role of Akai Hoshi, who attends Cherry High with his brother after the loss of their parents.
Story Mode presents a mystery with dramatic events, decisions, and several possible conclusions. Free Missions Mode allows missions to be replayed for scores and leaderboard positions, while Explore Mode revisits locations encountered during the story. A character viewer provides additional details on encountered characters, and a music player supports listening to and remixing the soundtrack. The game also includes randomized students outside the main cast, face and hairstyle customization for Akai, voice acting, character animations, controller support, settings, translations, Steam Cloud Save, and achievements.
