Our take on Shadows Are Alive
Its defining structure is the randomly generated map: each escape takes place through a changing layout while The Shift pursues players in two forms.
What is Shadows Are Alive?
Shadows Are Alive is a survival-horror adventure set across changing locations, including a haunted mansion and a spooky carnival.
Players explore shifting maps, uncover dangers, and search for a way out while The Shift pursues them in two forms: a physical presence and a smoke-like state. Lanterns provide a defense against its Shift Vision. Characters can channel different alter egos, such as a firefighter, lockpicker, psychologist, or inventor, each bringing abilities for solving challenges and surviving encounters. Maps are randomly generated, creating different routes and challenges across play-throughs. The game supports solo play and multiplayer sessions for up to 5 players. Hidden stories surround the alter egos and The Shift, with additional maps planned by the vendor.
