SimulationIs Devious Path worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy short anomaly-spotting horror games
- Solo players who prefer observation and decision-making over direct confrontation
- Players seeking a 60–120-minute supernatural adventure
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long campaign may find the 60–120-minute play time limited.
- Players looking for broad environmental variety may find the repeated two-room-and-corridor structure narrow.
- Players who want open-ended exploration may find the two-door progression restrictive.
- Players seeking a large amount of content may find 13 main levels insufficient.
Our take on Devious Path
The defining mechanic is a repeated judgment call: inspect the altered astral surroundings, then either pass through one of two doors or retreat when an anomaly appears. Keys hidden in each location gate progression, making observation the basis of every level.
What is Devious Path?
Devious Path places the player in an endless astral world containing two rooms joined by a corridor.
Each area has its own inhabitants and history, while changes in the surroundings signal possible anomalies. Progress requires examining the location, finding a hidden key, and selecting one of two doors. Moving forward is the correct choice when no anomaly appears; spotting one calls for retreat. Each key opens a door for one level, and the game contains 13 levels beyond a training stage. Death is presented as a threat because hostile entities may enter the player’s body and reach the human world. A full playthrough is listed at 60–120 minutes.
How Devious Path plays
