Our take on Desert Child
Rather than moving directly from race to race, the game ties its racing goal to earning money through jobs, then spending time on bike repairs, upgrades, meals, and city exploration between competitions.
What is Desert Child?
Play as a young hoverbike racer trying to earn enough money to travel from Earth to Mars and enter the Grand Prix.
Make cash by racing, delivering pizzas, collecting gun parts, and taking bounty jobs. Between races, explore cities, repair and upgrade the bike, eat local food for buffs, and fight gangsters and bounty hunters. Bike customization includes guns and amplifiers. The game combines racing and combat with jobs and city exploration, while a pixel-art solar system provides the setting. Local multiplayer lets friends race or play together. Earth’s worsening conditions and a planned rise in ticket prices provide a deadline for the trip to Mars.
