Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed adventure may find the lethal traps, escalating enemies, and loss of run progress demanding
- Those wanting a fixed, story-led structure may not enjoy repeated maze descents and run-based progression
- Players looking for a purely narrative RPG may find the focus on dungeon exploration and extraction too narrow
Our take on Deepest Dungeons
The extraction structure makes every deeper descent a trade-off: continuing can yield greater rewards, but death removes run progress. The design gives up uninterrupted advancement in favor of decisions about when to leave, with stored equipment carrying value into future attempts.
What is Deepest Dungeons?
Deepest Dungeons is a rogue-like RPG with extraction elements, built around repeated expeditions into changing labyrinths.
Each run involves exploring larger maze layouts, fighting increasingly dangerous monsters, avoiding traps, finding keys, and collecting equipment. Exits offer a choice: return to the surface and store progress in the Stashbox, or continue deeper while risking the run’s gains. Death removes progress, but stored items remain available for later attempts. The game follows a young adventurer reclaiming runes taken by monsters. Gear strengthens combat abilities and provides advantages while navigating the dungeon, while repeated failures provide knowledge and resources for future descents. After conquering the depths, New Game Plus adds a higher-difficulty challenge.
